Honoring Melissa McFerrin Warrack

Our Hawaiʻi Children’s Theatre ʻohana is deeply saddened by the loss of our dear friend and longtime Vice President, Melissa McFerrin Warrack, who passed away on November 7, 2025.

Melissa’s love for theatre and for the Kauaʻi community was boundless. For many years, she poured her creativity, optimism, and determination into every part of HCT. She was the driving force behind HCT Academy and Summer Stars, always dreaming of ways to make theatre more accessible, more inspiring, and more inclusive for Kauaʻi’s keiki and families.

Her influence can be felt in every performance, every rehearsal, and every young person who found confidence and joy on our stage. Melissa’s legacy is one of passion, laughter, and unwavering commitment to community.

A celebration of her life will be held on
📅 Thursday, November 20
🕔 5–8 p.m.
📍 Kukui Grove Center – Macy’s Men’s (enter by First Hawaiian Bank)

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hawaiʻi Children’s Theatre in her honor — to continue the work she loved so deeply and to keep her vision alive for generations to come.

If you have photos to share for the celebration, please send them to kehaukato70@gmail.com by November 15.

Melissa’s spirit will forever be part of HCT — in the lights, the music, the laughter, and the joy she helped create.

With love and gratitude,
The Hawaiʻi Children’s Theatre ʻOhana
